In conjunction with the 14th anniversary of the Copenhagen Goldsmith Guild, there was a design competition, which objective was to celebrate classic craftsmanship, and materials, specifically gold and diamonds. Since 14 is a number used to identify karat in the jewellery industry, it was used as a gimmick in the name of this exhibition.
My contribution was a series of rings in 14-karat gold, using the number 8 in a creative way to “form” the number 585.
585 is the stamp for 14 karat, and that was the reason why I used this number for my piece.
